The deputation appointed by the Labor Conference yesterday waited on the Premier at noon to-day, but the representatives of tho press wore not admitted. Later. The deputation had an hour and a-half'a talk with the Premier, but both parties decline to give any information as to the nature or result of the interview. The Ngamotu Lodge, No. 2053, E.G., last night unanimously resolved to join the Grand .Lodge of New Zealand from the Ist November. The Railway Commissioners will resume the full train services on the Wellington, Wanganui, and Napier lines next week. Chbistchurch, This day. A letter has been received by tho Grand Master of the Constitution of Masons from the Grand Master of Liberia stating there is no doubt of recotrnition by that Grand Lodge. At the R.M. Court to-day before Mr R. Beetham, R.M., cases brought against Selig and Bird, proprietors of the Referoe, for breaohes of the Gaming and Lotteries | Aot in receiving money for investment on j the totalisator and publishing an advertisement relating thereto. Two cases were heard, and a third is to be decided by the decision to them, which was reserved. Two other cases for publishing advertisements relating to Melbourne sweeps were adjourned line die. Gbeymooth, This day. A meeting of tho Trades Labor Union and miners' representatives from Brunnerton j was held to-day. A resolution was carried j unanimously to maintain the strike and not give way in the slightest degree. The meeting is still sitting. Langridge and Masters, storekeepers, Brunnerton, have called a meeting of creditors. Their failure is attributed to losses through the general depression caused by tho strike. Wkstfobt, This day. The free laborers commenced to work the Dennisfon mine this morning. Everything is quiet. Coal lowering will be suspended for several weeks owing to the accidental collapse of a portion of the brake machinery. Ltttklton, This day. -Arrived, at 6 a.m. — Tekapo, from Timaru. The freezing hulk Edwin Fox leaves hero on Saturday in tow of the Arawa for Wellington en route to Napier.
