Tho schooner Marmion left Dunedin on Mniiday with a cargo of Kaitangata coal. The 's.s. Kiwi returned to Wellington last evening. The s.s. Te Anau, the arrival of which we reported yesterday, brought tho following passengers :—Miss Glendinning ; Lady Whitmore ; Mesdames Palliser aud 0 children, Creeks, and Dixon; Messrs Clark, Gle-.dinuing, Archibald, Ryeburn, Willcook, Wilson, Alison, aud 7 steerage. The To Anau was tendered by tho s.s., Ahuriri and the cargo lightered by the lighter Trusty, the To Anau steaming North shortly after ten o'clock in the evening. Sir George Grey was a through passenger from Wellington to Auckland"by the Te Anau. He looked to bo iv excellent health.
The Result got away for Mohaka early this morning.
The s.s. To Kapu is expected back from tho Wairoa and Mahia about nine o'clook to-night.
The schooner Dunedin will sail for Lyttelton to-morrow.
From a private wire received in town yesterday, we learn that tho barque Asterion is to como hero to load wool for the Shaw, Savill, aud Albion Company. The Asterion is at present at Nelson, and will leave there by the first favorable -wind. She is commanded by Captain Burton, formerly chief officer of tho barque Langstone. The Asterion will be followed by tho Euterpe another of the Shaw, Savill vessels. The Euterpe is at present discharging cargo in Melbourne and is due here in about three weeks.
The Wairarapa arrived at, Auckland from Sydnoy yesrerday. Mr and Mrs Tiffen, Misses Tiffen (2), and Messrs Stewart and Watkins, aro passengers for Napier. Tho Wanaka left Lyttelton for Wellington yesterday. The Hon. Georgo McLean is a passeug.r.
The Wakatipu loft Sydney for Wellington yestorday.
The Ahuriri left for the coast at G o'clock t his morning.
The barquentine Pondlo Hill has been unable to get a cargo of coals from Newcastle for here, and has been chartered to oad for Lyttelton.
