Gold mining: Try Fluke?, 8s 10d; Red Mercury, 3s ; Maripoea, Iβ 6d; Carbines, 2e Gα; May Queens, 12s Cd ; Kuaotunu, Is 9d ; Oriental Thames, Is 2d. Mr H. P. Cohen reports that at his stock sale at Taradale yesterday cattle came forward in much larger numbers than usual, but were mostly dairy stock of inferior classes, consequently bidding was not very spirited. Sheep (wethers, medium quality) vere well competed for, and realised 14s. The following prices wero obtained: —Cows in milk, £3 ; spring-ing cows, £3 to £3 10s_; springing heifers. £2 15b to £3 ; heifers, in full milk, £3 oa to ,£4 ; yearling bulls, £1 »c; yearling heifers, 10s Gd; yearling steers, 17s. My next stock sale will be held at Hastings on 3rd October.
