Mails Close. For Gisborne and Auckland, per Southern
Cross, on Monday 22nd inst. Gisborne, Auckland, and Australian colonies
per s.s. Monowai, on Tuesday. The s.s. Kahu leaves Lvttelton for Chatham
Islands on Wednesday, Ist October. Tho s s. Tongnriro will leave Wellington for London on Thursday, 2nd October. Specially addressed correspondence for tho United Kingdom, etc., marked •'per Tong.iriro," will close on Wednesday, Ist October, at 6 a.m. Parcols per parcels poet will close on Tuesday, 30th instant, at 5 p.m. This mail will be due in London on 12th November. For the Sandwich Islands, America, West Indies, the United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, <fee, via San Francisco, will close on Saturday, 4th October, at 0 a.m. Money orders will close at 4 p.m. and registered letters at o p.m. on Friday, 3rd October. This mail will bo due in London on 10th November. During the temporary suspension of train service on Tuesdays and Fridays, mails will be despatched from Napier (to close at G a.m.) for Clive, Hastings, HaveInck North, Te Aute, Kaikora North, Waipawa, and Waipukurati. Return mails from these offices will reach Napier at about 9 p.m. same day. No parcels will be carried by these mails. On the same d:iyc a mail will reach Napier by the tritin leaving Hastings ut 8 ISO a.m., and a mail for Hastings will be despatched, closing at Headoffice. Napier, at "> p in. 8. J.
