The Union Company's s.s Oantain W. C. Sinclair, arrived from Melbourne via southern ports at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday. She was at ouce tendered by the s.s. Ahuriri, which landed the inward passengers at 4 p.m. The Ahuriri then went off for the cargo, after which she took off tho outward passengers at S p.m., the Tarawera steaming on to Gisborne at 9
Tho U-iion Company's s.s. Southern Cross steamed on to Wellington at 4 p.m. on Saturday. . Tho schooner Opotiki, Captain Bergeneen, arrived from Gisborne yesterday morning. She comes hero in ballast, and will t*ke back a cargo of timber to Gisborne. _ Tho Union Company's s.s. Monowai, Captain M. Carey, arrived from S m northern ports at 7 a.m. yesterday.
