At noon to-day the officers will give twenty-four hours' notice of their intention to leave their vessels. The seamen follow suit. Newcastle, This day. Owing to the threatened strike, a groat impetus has been given to the coal trade, while the vessels are beiug paid heavy freights. Melboubnb, This day. Preparations are being mado to prevent tho shipping of uon-Union shorn wool, and a systematic boycott will be established. Tho employers have also completed their arrangements to oppose the Unionists. Tho Railway Commissioners have scoured a supply of coal equal to a fortnight's consumption, and have arranged for supplies so us to bo able to run tho trains in the event of a protracted strike. LIGHTHOUSE AT THE SNARES. Mr Gillies has received a letter from Sir Henry Parkes agreeing to share in the cost of erecting a lighthouse at The Snares.
