The labor demonstration which wbh proposed has been postponed till next week, when thoro will be a bigger show if a general strike takes place. It ie probable that ten of the intercolonial steamere will bo laid up on Monday, unless the officers demand is moderated.
Melbootkk, This day. The Shearers' Union have issued a bulletin to the effect that in consequence of the Pdstoralists' Uuion declining to have further dealings with the Union unless it be optional with sheep-owners to employ Union or non-Union labor, nothing is left but to fight it out.
At a meeting of sheep-owners, shipowners, and stevedores, it was decided to take a firm stand.
Tho stovedores' laborers aro wavering in their determination not to handle nonUnion wool.
