BRENNAN TORPEDO,
London, August 2. Mr. Hanbury, M.P., has given notice of his intention to ask what money has been paid in respect to tho Breunan torpedo, which he described as au ingenious toy, and owing to its limited range it was devoid of practical use, while foreigners had condemned its principle. THE MARKETS. Bar silver is quoted at -Is 3|d por ounce. Medium beef tallow is at 24s 6d, mutton 255. The English wheat market is dull, the Continental without ehangc, whilo the American is declining.
The money market is firm. Threo months' bills are disoounted in the open market at 4g per cent.
The spot quotation at New York for red wintor wheat is cents. For Australian wheat on passage sellers ask 3Ss, while buyers offer 37s 6d, for New Zealana the quotation is 375.
