He appears to be much broken dmvn physically aud mentally, and wishes to spend the remainder of his days free from political troubles. Mata-ifa still holds the throne. Assault* and crime have alarmingly increased on the part, of the lntivos, and the German Consul has ordered planters not to carry firearms.
