Auckland, Thi« day. The Chelnißford lcftOpotiki for Auckland at half-past fivo yesterday with Te Kooti in custody. A police escort aud the Auckland Volunteers are also on boiud. Tho Chelmsford will probably arrivo in the hurbor this afternoon. Preparations are being made to have To Kooti's conviction brought under review at the Supreme Court and quashed. The proceedings ate alleged to ba irregular. Later. Tlie grounds of Mr. Napier's appeal against Te Kooti's senteuce in '.hat no wet of tho prisoner comes under Section H of the Justices of the Peace Act; also that the information charged To Kooti with misdemeanor, and Mr. Bush had no power to dea| with it, but should have committed the prisoner to tho Supremo Court.
