To-day was the last meeting of the present Harbor Board, for before another meeting is held tho electiou of members will have to take place.

The R.M. gave judgment this afternoon in the case of Glazebrook v. Witoki. The R.M. said plaintiff had not proved his case : the Court was not satisfied, and plaintiff would be non-suited. Costs, and solicitor's fee £2 2s.

Mr. S. H. Gollan has presented £4 to the Caledonian Society as a special prize for tho wrestling match. This ovent is likely to be one of tho most interesting matches of the day, as we hear that Messrs. Dunn Brothers, Robinson, and Tiffen, the four best wrestlers in New Zealand, will be amongst the contestants.

The Harbor Board to-dny authorised £2000 to be transferred from the current account to the deposit account, which will thus earn ">J per cent.

Mr. Bell, of Bell, Gully, and Izard, will enter an appearance at Wellington on behalf of the owners of the barque Langstone on Thursday next, in connection with tho claim of £2000 made by Messrs Richardson and Co. for tho owners and crew of the s.s. Weka.

On Saturday morning last a number of tbe parisbiouers of Saint Andrew's Church met in the schoolhouse to say a few words of farewell, nnd to make a presentation, to the Rev. Arthur D'Arcy Irvine, prior to his departure. Mr Wilson, one of the Vestrymen, read an address, signed on behalf of tho parishioners and friends, which expressed regret that Mr Irvine was leaving tho district, and hoped that prosperity would attend him in his new home. During his brief charsre of the parish Mr Irvine had endeared himself iv tho heaits of his parishioners for his eurnest efforts to minister to their spiritual needs under many trying and discouraging circumstances. As an expression of respect and esteem Mr Wilson presented Mr Irvine with a very handsome frosted silver inkstand and a purse of sovereigns, tho purse being made of crimson velvet and embroidered "Good Luck "by a lady of the parish. The Roy. Mr Irvine replied in a few well-chosen remarks, thanking the donors for their handsome gift, which came upon him with considerable surprise. Ho had done his best to carry out his ministerial duties in tho service of the church in its simplest and purest form, and ho was pleased to find that his efforts had met with their approval. Ho objected strongly to anything like ostentation, and therefore appreciated the manner in which the address and i resentation were given. In bidding his parishioners farewell, he spoke a kindlyword for the now Incumbent, and ho hoped that the paishioners would give Mr Preston all tho help in their power. Mr Irvine loft by tho Mararoa for the South to take up a new appointment iv the Nelson district. A number of friends waited until the departure of the launch to wish him " God speed."

The following is Mr GooJall's special report on tho completion of the first section of the breakwater, for which W. McGill was contractor:—William McGill completed the various works in connection with contract No. 13 satisfactorily on the 2lst of December, ISBS. Time of completion exceeded contract time by 21 weeks and h days. Delays were caused in tho first place in rer.ioving the larsre amount of earth that had been blasted down, and in making the roof of the breakwater, which was an "extra" on tbe contract. Latterly the contractor had generally very bad seas to contend with. Ido not consider that any timo was )ost through negligence.
