DEPARTURES.

December. 17—Kahu, s.s., for Castlepoint. Richardson and Co., agents. 17—Wairoa, s.s., for Wairoa. Hyland and Smith, agents.

The Kahu left for Castlepoint and coast stations at 7 p.m. yesterday. The Wairoa left for Wairoa last night, but on arrival there found it impossible to do any work, owing to tho heavy sea, and returned this morning. She will make another etart this evening if the report from Wairoa is favorable. The Ahuriri did not leave last night, but ■will probably start for Blackhead to-night. The Bella, which arrived from Clive four or fivo days ago, has her cargo of wool still on board, the Dumbartonshire not boing ablo to take it yet. If the weather is favorable tho Result will leave for Mohaka to-night. The following vessels belonging to the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's fleet are reported as having sailed from London, or were expected to sail for New Zealand ports:—Dunedin, from London to Auckland, sailed on Oct. 6; Hudson, sailed from Glasgow for Otago on Oct. 19 ; Taranaki, left London for Otago on Oct. 20 ; Euterpe, left London for Wellington on Nov. 3; Auriga, left London for Nelson and Napier on Nov. 2; Haloione, left London for Lyttelton on Nov. 3. The Pleiades was to leave for Wellington on Nov. 16; and the Oamaru for Auckland on Nov. 15.

H.M.S. Nelson has arrived at Plymouth from Australia.

The Rotemahana arrived at Sydney from Auckland yesterday, and H.M.S. Orlando left the former port for Auckland same day.
