Off-coast Australian cargoes aro selling nt 41s, to 41s 6d ; Australian flour, ex store, '29s 6d to 30s; leather, 9d to SHd : galvanised iron, Orb brand, shows v slight decline, and is quoted at £10 10s. Tho Island Block Goldmining Company of Otago is now allotting shares. The Agents-General have interviewed Lord Knuteford, urging him to reinstate in tho Liability of Trustees Bill the clause allowing trustees to invest funds in colonial inscribed stock, which was struck out by the House of Lords last session.
November 28.Tho second battalion of Scottish Borderers has been ordered to proceed to Sunkim. In the House of Cominjns to-day Baron de Worms deuiod that Lord Knutsford and the Marquis of Lothian had approved of Mr. W. L. Rees's colonisation scheme. Ho added that the New Zealand Government had sent 11 cable message to the Imperial Government to the affect that tlio figures mentioned in Mr. Bees's proposal were entirely misleading. Tho convocation of tho Oxford University have admitted the University of Sydney to the privileges of a colonial university. The Oaths Bill has passed through committee iv the House of Lords without amendment. Zanzuiab, November '27. The Sultan is unwilling to consent to the blockading of tho coast, as proposed by England and Germany. ViffifSTA, November 27. Tho Neve Frei Fresse, ono of tho leading political newspapers, predicts an early civil •war in Franco. Belobadk, November '27. The Radicals have secured a majority of 40 in tho Grand Skupstine. SrouEY, November '28. A steam launch proceeding down the coast foundered, and two men named Trotter and Taylor wore drowned.
The annuat meeting of the South Pacific Petroleum Company has been adjourned for a fortnight pending tho result of the withdrawal of the bore now being made.
