At an inijiicst on tho body of tho child of Alex. Campbell, of Durham street, tho evidence showed that the child had been accidently overlain by the mother while in a fit. A girl about fifteen years of ago stated that Campbell and his family, and she and her father, all occupied the same sleeping apartment ten or twelve feet square. The man explained ho was a gutndigger. aud not iv a position to provide better accommodation for Ids wife, or pay auvone to look after her when she had fits. "The coroner said the state of thiua-s was almost incredible, and .should be brought under (he notice of the Charitable Aid Board.
