ESCAPE OF A PRISONER.

This mormn«» a Mauri named Hoar Maris (John Murray), on remand on charge of breaking into the Maud-vill Hotel, Kaiapoi, escaped fnm Addingto gaol. The warder gave the prisoner hi breakfast at six, and, as he thinks, lockti the door. On visiting the cell at 0.45 h found the d"or open and the man gone. B; climbing the partition wall near the cell the prisoner could gain the roof of the mill division and get. outside tho gaol by taking a drop of a dozen feet.
