ARRIVAL. October. o—Manapouri, s.s., from Melbourne via southern ports. (Ho passenger list was sent ashore.) DEPARTUEES. October. 6—Rotomahana, s.s., for southern ports and Melbourne. Passengers — Mesdames King and Clett'e ; Messrs. Short, M'Ken/.ie, Cogswell, Brogden, Cleffe, Plant, Waughton, Miers, lasher, Chamberlain, Frascr, Reid, aud Ashworth.
7—Manapouri, s.s.. for northern ports. Passengers-— Mesdames Everson and Ruskoll: Misses Millar and Welsinan ; Messrs. Cochoraii,Molloy, Haselden, and Willcocks.
The Union Company's s.s. Manapouri, Captain T. Logan, arrived in the bay at 0 p.m. on Saturday, but owing to the thick weather came to an anchor a long way out, not intending to come up to the anchorage before morning. The Wairoa was, bowover, waiting with the outwind passengers and 'Frisco mail, una steamed out to where sho was lying. t"'he did not get back with the inward passengers until 2 a.m., the Mauapuuri getting away a littlo before then.
The s.s. Rotomahana, Captain Carey, steamed for northern ports and Melbourne at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday, after embarking hor outward mails and passengers per s.s. Wairoa, winch left the wharf at 2 p.m.
The schooner Rio is still lying in tho bay, although she has completed her loading. She will probably sail for Sydney this afternoon.
Tbo s.s. Wairoa will steam for Wairoa to-morrow night.
Tho schooner Lily, with a load oE pro dnce, leaves Oamaru for this port to-day.
The s.s. Ahuriri is now discharging a load of cargo ex Lungstono.
Tho s.s. Kiwi leaves Wellington this evening for Napier via tho coast. The s.s. Tongariro arrived at Wellington at 11.SO p.m. on Saturday from London tin Plymouth, TunerittV, Cape Town, ami Hobart. Sbe brought 141 passengers of all classes (37 of whom were landed at Hobart), 213 sacks of mails, and 2000 tons of cargo, GOO tons being for Wellington, 500 tons for Lyttelton, 350 tons for Auckand, and 550 for Duued'n. The Tongariro left Plymouth after embarking mails and passengers at 2.6 p.m. ou the 25th of August. Experienced light airs aud thick weather across the bay of Biscay to Teneriffe, arriving at 1.3 a.m. on the 30th of August. After coaling left again at noon tho samo day. Experienced one day's N.E. trades and then S. \V. monsoon and rainy weather to the equator; from theuco fresh S.E. trades to Cape Town, arriving at 11.20 a.m. on the 14th of _ September. After coaling and provisioning the ship left tlie Cape af (i.47 p.m. ihe same day. Towards Hobart fell in with light easterly winds for three days, running the casting down in 4S-00 S., with continuous S.W. winds and snow, arriving at Hobart at 525 p.m. on tho 2nd of October. After landing 37 passengers for Hobart and Australian ports left again at 10.7 p.m. for Wellington, meeting on the passage across a strong N.W. gale and heavy sea, passing Capo Farewell at 12.5 p.m. on tho Gth of October, and arriving at Wellington as above. Tho passage from Plymouth occupied 11 days 21 hours 15 minutes: actual steaming time, 41 days 3 minutes. Miss A. Williams is tho only passenger for Napior.
