A capital start was effected. Blarney at once shot to tho front, closely attended by Honoydew, Elsio being last. When fairly Bet going Lampnd left hif horses audi led past the sheds by two lengths, Pet GirK next, then Blarney, and the rest in a cluster. Round tho bend Lamond still led,, but. Touchstone ran up to Pet Girl and oamehard after Lamond. When fauiy in thegtraight Touchstone showed for a moment at tho head of affairs, but Lamond came= again, and passing tho stand was once monoin front, with Touchstone at his girtilsi. After them came Pet Girl, followed By Blarney, Leiohardt, Frisco, and Arsena£ [ There was no material alteration at tie seven furlong post or along the back of the course to tho sheds, where Lamond had improved his lead of Touchstone to threequarters of a length, the rest in "a bunch Blarney made his effort when rounding tbe* bend and secured second place, followed! by Arsenal and Abercorn. Entering thestraight Lamond inoreased his pace,, and; coming away easily from tho others., won, by eight lengths. Arsenal beat Aberoom by half a length for second plac*. Thea came Elsie, Blarney, Honeydew, Leiohardt. Touohstono, Frisco, The Nun, and Pot Girl, in tho order named. Time, 3min 37jseo. ;

At tho fall of tho flag Pearlshell showed m front, and led the field past the sheds and round the bend by a length. S£ tinned in the lead to tho sbTfurlong Z t , when Bonnie Spec assumed the responsibility of affairs, tho others being ma cluster wdlup. Thre* furlongs from went up to tho leaders, and sho was first to show in the straight, but had an outside position. Pearlshell and Bonnio Spec at this time wero well up, and a desporate struggle took place down the straight between Pearlshell and tho favorite, tho formergaining tho judge's verdict by a neck Bonnie Spec three lengths away Time r 2min. olsec. There was groat excitement at Poarlshell's victory.
