ASHTON Has received permission from tho Colonial Secretary to disposo by Art Union of Two Oil Paintings of Maoris, exeouted by tho Celebrated Artist, Heeb Lindauke, whoso pictures attracted such great attention in tho Now Zealand court I of tho Colonial Exhibition, and to whom tho special medal and certificate were awarded. Tho Two Pictures aro valued at £80. They aro handsomoly framed in gold, and aro now on view in S. Carnell's Show-room. Subjects. First—Maoei Wojian, witii Child on her back; size, 34 x 27 inches. Second—Magnificent Poutuait or the late Maoei Chief, Renata Kawepo. These Paintings aro of historic value, as tho old race of Maoris aro fust dying out.
