GASPARINI DROWNED.

Detective Walker returned per Mauapouri. He has no doubt that Gasparini is drowned. The prisoner was seen to got up ut "2 o'clock in the morning, entering Sydney harbor, by .Joshua Palmer, cattle dealer", of Tokomairoro, Otago, who slept next him, and lie was never scon after. Ho could not havj reached the shore on account of tho routrh weather, and the French detective in" Sydney nsnured Detective Walker he would have known withiu four hours if the prisoner had landed there. Tho prisoner got into very low spirits when Hearing Sydney.
