DEATH OF A GREAT MAORI CHIEF.
WAirAWA, This day. Nopera Kuikainga, a well-known chief living at Taipjiru rah, died this morning. Death was accelerated, it is said, by mi operation which he recently underwent in the amputation of a toe. Nopora was much respected in the district and possessed considerable menus.
