A meeting of Chinese yesterday agreed to p*y the paseago of a number of Celestials who wish to return to China by tho first tea ehipCßllißghero. The annual meeting of tho Auckland branch of the Educational Institute on Saturday adopted an address to Mr O'Sullivan. late Inspector of Schools, on hie retirement. They also passed a resolution thanking the Rev. Mr G. 11. Gulliver, late president of the Institute, and regretting his possible removal from Auckland. Mr Ralph Stewart was elected president for tho ensuing year.
