The Supreme Court criminal sittings were opened to-day before.Mr Justice Ward, wh» congratulated tho Grand Jury on the" lightness of tho calendar, aud expressed his sense of the loss sustained by the colony through the death of Mr Justice Johnston. Esther Matilda Everett pleaded guilty to forging a chequo for £11 on tho Colonial Bank. "The probation officer's report was very favorable. Sho was placed on probation for twelve months.
