LOCAL GOVERNMENT BILL.
Sydney, This day. The Government have shelved the Locai Government Bill.
BIG RAILWAY SCHEME,
The Premier last night announced in the House that tho Government proposed to recommend the House to grant a vote for the construction of a railway lino from the Hunter rivor to the Twoed river at a cost of £6,080,000. Ho stated, further, that the railway extension proposals of the Government embraced eighteen hundred miles of new lines at a cost, including tho Hunter to Tweed line, of £11,000,000.
LAND TAX. The Land Tax Bill was road a second time.
INCREASED MILITARY FORCES.
It is announced that the military force oi the colony will bo increased to 9100 men.
CHINESE BILL.
The Chinese Bill has passed the Counci l . In committee the clause restricting tho rosidonco of Chinese and imposing restrictions on travelling was struck out.
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT.
Adelaide, This day. Parliament has adjourned during the sitting of tho Chineso Conference in Sydney.
