THE BROKEN CABLE.

Wellington, This day.

It has been found that ten miles of cablo is very much damaged, and that there are three breaks. The first break is four and it-half miles from Lyell Bay, another eighteen miles from White's Bay, and another a little further out. Tho broken parts are to bo grappled for and brought to town and repaired. In re-laying, it is expected to savo four miles; as at; present lnid there is a large bend which will be obviated when re-laid.
