TOWN EDITION.
The Australia arrived from Wellington at three o'clook this afternoon.
The blast was fired at half-past three o'clock this afternoon, and many people in town who had overlooked the fact that the explosion was to tako place, put it down as an earthquake. It was also severely felt on the hills.
: The monthly meeting of the Fire Police will be held to-morrow night.
