' "VTOTICE is hereby given that the fol±S lowing Resolution passed by tho Napier Borough Council at its ordinary ' general meeting held on tho 2nd November, 1887, will take effect as and from the Ist January, 1888. It was ordained that " Tho removal of night-soil be made compulsory throughout the Borough, and tho removal of house and yard refuse compulsory all over tho flats and all ovor the Spit." Tho following extract from By-law No. ' 28 is published for general information :— BY-LAW No. 28, SECTION 13. 2. The Council may by a resolution ' passed at any general or extraordinary ' meeting cause a notice in writing to be ? served upon tho owner or occupier of any premises, either by posting the same to him ' or by personal service, or by affixing such ' notice to some conspicuous part of the paid 1 premises calling upon him to rsmove, destroy, and abolsh any cesspit or cesspool 1 which may exist on such premises within one month from the date of service of the notice, and in default thereof tho Council ', may remove, destroy, and abolish such 1 cesspit or cesspool, and the expense thereby r incurred shall bo recoverable by the Counoil from such owner or occupier. _ 3!
