DEPARTURES

May. 3—Suva, 5.3., for northern ports. 3—Kiwi, s.s., for Wellington via the coast.

The s.s. Kahu, captain Romerill, arrived from Wellington at 10 o'clock last night and camo alongside the breastwork early this morning. She is now discharging a quantity of cargo, aud will stoam on her return journey for the coast and Wellington this evening. Tho Union Company's s.s. Tarawora is due from Wellington to-morrow forenoon, and will steam in tho evening for Gisborne, Auckland, and Russell. The last launch leaves at 5 p.m. The cutter Leo arrived from Gisborne this morning for another load of timber. The schooner Rio was towed inside yesterday afternoon by the steamers Ahuriri and Waihi. She commenced discharging her ooal this morning , . The s.s. Wairoa steamed ior Wairoa at an early hour this morning. The steamers Suva and Kiwi both got away yesterday evening, the former for northern ports and tho latter for the coast and Wellington. The New Zealand Shipping Company's s.s. Kaikoura leaves Auckland to-morrow night, and is duo here at daybreak on Monday. She will tako in a quantity of wool and grass seed, which is now being loaded into tho lighters, and will be in readiness for her when she arrives. There will, therefore, he no delay, and she will resume her voyage in tho afternoon for Lyttelton, where she will complete her loading for London.

The s.s. Australia, Captain Crawshaw, arrived from northern ports at 10 a.m. today, and only having ahout 30 tons of cargo, was lightered in tlfb roadstead by the Waihi She will steam for Wellington this afternoon.

The s.s. Manapouri left Auckland yesterday afternoon, and should arrive hero early to-morrow morning. Outward passengers for southern ports and Melbourne will bo taken off by the Waihi which leaves the wharf at 5 p.m.
