SPORTING.
At the Taran&ki ra<;es yesterday the Handicap Hurdles was won by Armorer, Bluebell and Allegro filling the places. Sik-nce won tho Autumn Handicap, Rimu second and Tainora third. Silence was a warm favorite. After one mile liad been covered Silence came away with a rush, passinif through his horses in grand style. RiouiVtis the only horse to challenge the favorite, but his efforts were ineffectual, Silence winning by half a length without being punished. Time, -imin. GJsec. Landseer appropriated the Provincial Handicap, and Rimu the Consolation.
At Oamaru Baruaido won the Novel Handicap (dividend £13 Sμ), Mohawk tlw Coufitits All-aged Handicap (dividend £35 8s), Plunger the Hurry Scurry, ajjd Cullegti Boy the Consolutiou,
