Mr Largo interviewed Mr Mitehelson today as to ' the Wairoa to Rotorua road, sixty miles of which is unmade. The Minister also stated that Mr Blackett would be unable to visit Gisborno and Wairoa harbors during the present recess.
A little girl about eight years of age, the daughter of Mr F. Saunders, secretary to the Harbor Board, broke her forearm yesterday at a school picnic at Farndon. Dr. Linney happened to be at Farndon station at the time and ho attended to tho little sufferer, and when the child arrived in Napier the arm was set by Dr. Hitchings.
Mr W. H. Neal has just completed two photographic views of tho Napier breakwater, showing the working of tho big crane. The photographs are excellent works of art, and are interesting as showing the progress mado in the construction of the breakwater.
Tho New Zoaland Bible, Tract, and Book Society have opened a depot in Hastingsstreet for a few weeks with a splendid assortment of books, cards, &c., as per advertisement. Persons requiring the publications usually sold by tho Society would do well to inspect them.
