Pirates 9, Harriers f>, aud Te Auto nil. Juniors : Pukehou 14, Pirates 13, High School 11, Napier 5, County a, and Harriers nil. Five interproviueial matches were played, and of these those against Canterbury, Gisbome, and Manawat.u wero won ; one was drawn with Wellington: and one, ftiat with Otago was lost, but in this match Hawke's Bay was much weakened by the absence of Messrs Jamieson, Taiaron, and Warbrick. The ball given to the Otago representatives was a success, though not equal in attendance to that of IKS 6. Tho cups for the senior and junior contests havo

still to bo purchased, and wo would suggest that this bo done at an early date. Mr Lillywhite has been offered £50 towards the expenses of his English team should he play here, but he has replied that his men will probably go down to the West Coast and play at Nelson instead of Napier. The secrotary has, however, communicated with Mr Chapman, of Dunedin, and asked him to interview Mr Lillywhite on his arrival with the cricket team. The Hawke's

Bay Union owes Gisborne n visit, and Wellington should play hero this season. The secretary of the Auckland Union has written asking support in the formation of a New Zealand Union, and claiming that it would serve a good purpose in tho speedy settlement of disputes without reference to the English Union, aud in the arrangements of matters affecting the game. Your committee would recommend the matter to their miccessors, and iv conclusion trust that the various clubs will bold their meetings if possible during the next fortnight, to onable the new delegates to arrange fixtures for tho coming season." Mr Black, tho hou sac. read a statement of accounts showing a credit balance of X 27 10s 2d, with £5 os still duo. The report and balancesheet were adopted.

Mr Editor :—Kindly insert the following received from Messrs Royse and Anderson in answer to a letter which was sent enquiring as to the efficacy of our Improved Sheep Dip : — Kercru, 21st February, 18SS. Messrs Eakins and Co. Dear Sirs, —We have yours of tho 10th, enquiring about the result of our dipping from the shears in your dip. We dipped over two thousand «>f our best ewes with their lambs, and about three thousand five hundred hoggets, almost directly off tho shears, without the loss of a sheep from tho dipping or causing any damage whatever to cither sheep or wool. They wero dipped in November, and yesterday we bad about fifteen hundred of them in the yards, and though we luoked carefully, could not find a tick on the merinos and only one on a crossbred lamb. Yours truly, IvOVSl; AND ASDEESON. Mr F. Colliuge, of Pakowhai, manager for A. Grant, Esq., also writes Messrs Eakins and Co.: — " I have great pleasure in again testifying to the efficacy of your dip. I must nay it i» the best" of all dipping preparations, and the sheep have not tt sign of lice or tick on any of them. It is now ten months since 1 dipped them, which is a eeriain proof of the efficacy of your Improved Sheep Dip." Yours truly, F. Collixgk.
