Mr H. P. Cohen reports as follows : —At my sale of cattle at Taradale on Thursday heifers in calf fetched from £3 15s to £5 ; cows in calf from £3 10s to £5 5s ; cows in full profit, from £4 to £6. About 40 head wero yarded, all of which were cleared and averaged good prices. Tho fat cattle advertised unfortunately did not arrive in time for sale, through great difficulty iv mustering. Bidding was spirited and the attendance of buyers good.

The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to to-day, show the reservo in notes and bullion to be £15,600,000, being an increase of £410,000 ou last week. Tho proportion of the reserve to tlie liabilities is 47 per cent. Tho quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,600,000 quarters, and for the Continent 170,000 quarters. The market rate of discount is at 11 jh:t oent. February 21. Over 1000 quarters of Australian wheat have been sold at 30s.
