During a discussion iv tho Assembly last evening on the proposal to extend the New South Wales railway system to the Broken Hill silvei mines, the notorious Mr McElhono, member for the Upper Hunter, in tho course of his remarks denounced some of the companies, including the White Rock Silver-lining Company, just floated with a capital of ono million, as swindles. Mr G. McL. Mutheson, another member, said he was interested iv the comoany partictdarly referred to, and Pilled Mr McElhono a liar, whereupon Mr McElhono struck Mr Mutheson in the lace. Alight
afterwards took plaeo in the smokingroom, and the aggressor was soundly drubbed.
