The u._al fortnightly meeting of tho Loyal Abbotsford Lodge was held last night, when there was a large uttondauce. Thonewly elected ofiieers were duly installed in their respective ofiices : A r .G. Booker to N.G., E.S. Garry to tho oilieeof V.G., Bro. G. A. Drummontl to permanent secretary, N.G. Carson to G.M., Bro. J. AVilliams to electing secretary, Bro. A. E. Jull to L.M., Bro. H. L. Jull'.U.S. to N.G., Bro R. B. May L.S.'to N.G., Bro. W. Gregg R.S. to V.G., Bro. Long L.S, to V.G. The following officers were elected to attend the next district meeting to be hold in Napier on 20th inst. : Bro. P.G. Oolbctt, P.G. Stains, N.G. Booker. Two new members were proposed and two mi tinted. The income for the evening amounted to £'M. After the Lodge business was over, the newly elected officers entertained the members with refreshments, and a good selection of songs and recitations were gone through nnd a very pleasant evening brought to a close. At*a meeting of the finance committee of the Patangata County Council held on Wednesday the following tenders wero received and dealt with : —Five hundred yards metal, AVanstead Gorge—J. A. Duncan, breaking and delivering, 7s Ski per cubic yard (accepted) ; C. Bellshaw, breaking otily, 7s P.Vd ; D. Mcllardy, Ss 7d ; R. Pope, 8s 9d; ~R. Pope, carting, 3s. Three hundred yards metal, cattlo paddock, Ugly Hill, AVallingford— A. J. Duncan, -rc-akiuuT and delivering, Us -Id per-cubic yard (accepted): D. Ryan, breaking os 3d, delivering 7s 6d; D. "McHardy, breaking only, (is 2-id ; AY. Armstrong, lis sd. Carting' for "twelve months— D. Ryan, to Porang-thau, £2 15s per ton (accepted); R. Pope, £2 ISsGcl.
