This afternoon
A fatal case of clyphtbcrin, occured at Kaikora on Wednesday. The victim was a ■ hoy 12 years old who succumbed in four days af tor the commencement of this fearful disease.
It has transpired that Mr Allen, who so recently succeeded Mr Eweu as manager of tho local branch of tho Bank of New Zealand, is leaving next week, and is to bo succeeded by Mr M'Lean of Wanganui.
There has been some talk of endeavoring to get the Licensing , Committee to reconsider their decision as regards Brighouse , fl hotel, which was to tho effect that the house was unnecessary, but the idea has been abandoned, and the house will be closed with the month.
