The Union Steamship Company's s.s. Wairarapa anchored in the bay yesterday at 2 p.m. We are indebted to Mr H. C. Taylor, her purser, for the following report: —Left Williamstown at 7.30 p.m. on the 22nd ult. and cleared the heads at 9.45 p.m.; passed Swan Island at 2.45 p.m. on the 23rd ; experienced fine weather on the run across, and made the land at 9 a.m. on the 2Gth, arriving at tho Bluff at 6 p.m. the same day ; sailed again at 5.30 p.m. on the 27th, and reached Dunedin at 8 a.m. on the 28th; left again again at 5 p.m. on the 29th, arriving in Lyttleton at 9 a.m. on tho 30th ; sailed again at 9 p.m., arriving in Wellington at 11.30 a.m. on the Ist inst. ; sailed again at 5 p.m. on the 2nd, arriving as above. Up the coast to Wellington had thick easterly weather, and from there strong S.E. gale and heavy sea. The Wairarapa steamed northwards at 12 o'clock last night. The outAvard passengers for tho U.S.S. Company's s.s. Manapouri, Capt. Logan, were taken out by the launch at 2 p.m. on Saturday, and she steamed out of the Bay for Melbourne and Southern ports at 3.15 p.m. She is telegraphed as having arrived in Wellington at 11 p.m. yesterday, having evidently experienced heavy Aveather on her waA r down.

The Union Company's s.s. Suva steamed for Wellington at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, but finding tho southerly gale outside the Kidnappers too heavy to face returned to port at 9.30 p.m. the same day. She got aAvay again at an early hour this morning. The coal Company's steamer OroAvaiti, went alongside the ship Mataura to tranship her compliment of coal on arrival on Saturday, but finding the sea too heavy to lay alongside, has anchored off, and is iioav waiting for the roll to go down. The steamer Kiwi, Captain James Campbell, arrived from the coast and Wellington on Saturday, and was berthed inside at the breastwork yesterday morning Avhero sho discharged her cargo. Up to tho time outreport left the Spit it was doubtful if she wotdd steam again before to-morrow. The three-masted schooner Mary Wadloy was berthed inside at the breastAvork this morning. The New Zealand Shipping Company s ship Mataura, Captain Ciiiickshank, cleared at the Customs for London on Saturday afternoon with the following cargo:— Shipped by Mr Fred W. Williams—lß2 bales of wool, 196 casks of tallow, 8 casks of pelts, 375 cases of tinned meats, 5737 carcasses of frozen mutton, 3844 legs of mutton, and 477 haunches of mutton, valued at £10,442 lis Sd. Shipped by Messrs Murray, Roberts and C 0.—1042 gr-bolca and IG7 hales of -ivool, 2C bnlos of sheepskins, and 13 casks of tallow, valued at £9974 0s 2d. Shipped by Messrs Banner and Liddle—26 bales of wool, valued at £431 3s 2d. Shipped by Messrs Kinross and Co.—B bales of wool, valued at £114 17s. Shipped by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited)—l6 casks of tallow, 83 quarter-bales and 151 bales of wool, valued at £2997 9s Id. Shipped by Messrs Richardson and C 0.—22 bales of wool, valued at £281 3s 4d. Besides which she has some 90 tons of antimony ore and 95 casks of tallow on board shipped from Wellington. She now only aAvaits the transhipment of her coal to be completed from the s.s. OroAvaiti boforo being ready for sea.
