LONDON.
April 23. The Imperial authorities have decided that the New South Wales contingent must be dismissed when their services in the Soudan are at an end, unless they volunteer for service in Afghanistan should war be declared Avith Russia.
It is rumored that the Oz{ir of Russia is shortly to be crowned as Fbjperor of Central Asia.
April 24. The Times this morning eulogises the New South Wales contingent in tho Soudan foj having volunteered for service inEWd'a. Captain Rhodes, Royal Engineora, sails from London for Melbourne on the 7th proximo to assume command of the Victorian Engineers and Torpedo corps.
April 25. The Admiralty haA'e chartered the Coptic, one of the White Star liners, and ordered the vessel to be fitted up as a cruiser for the defence of NeAV Zealand.
April 27,
The Daily Telegraph this morning states that Russia has consented to the appointment of a mixed military Commission to enquire into the respective reports of General Komaroff and Sir Peter Lumsden on the Russian attack upon tho Afghans. The Times says the British Government have suggested that the matter shall bo referred to arbitration.
