(Ross Mercury.) "The contractor for the extension of the Donnelly's Creek Tunnel tail-race has struck good looking wash in the tunnel,- and the water is now so great that he has decided to sink a shaft in the creek, and drive the remaining portion of the tunnel from it. There in no sign of ' pug' now in the tunnel. It is rumored that in consequence of the wash being struck, another lease has been pegged off adjoining the Donnelly Creek Company's claim." Prospecting in the Ross United Company's main shaft is , still being carried on, and , we-(Mercury) hope to hear the cheerful news shortly, that gold has been met with. The contractor for the Donnelly creek tunnel tail-race is making very good headway with the tunnel since deviating, and as yot, the pug has not been mot with. The Prince of Wales Company has not had much water since their last washing up; and therefore sluicing has not been carried on to any great extent. The Mont DOr and Mount Green-, land Companies still continuo sluicing, having a fair supply of water.
