COMMENCEMENT OF HOSTILITIES BETWEEN FRANCE AND CHINA.

ALEXANDRIA
August 22. It is announced that Major-General W. Earle will command tho Anglo-Egyptian expedition which it is proposed to despatch by the Nile route to Khartoum in October. The British troops attached to the expedition will number 5300.
