PROBABLE FLOATING OF THE TRIUMPH.
Auckland, This day
Mr Eraser, the purchaser of the wreck of the Triumph, has had a portable engine working since Christmas Day pumping tho water out, and tho engine-room is now nearly dry. It is found that there is no hole there, and that, except in the fore compartment, the leakage is all through the bulkheads. Men arc actively engaged taking out the railway iron in the forehold, and it is believed that sho will then float. Steam will be got up on Tuesday next if the weather continues fine, and au attempt will bo mado to get her off. If rough weather comes oil the water will have to be let in again, as the vessel will be so light. The whole of the refrigerator was taken out without the slightest injury.
