Rymer's coach leaves Newton's corner for Taradale at 0.30. p.m. Nominations for the Napier Handicap, Railway Stakes Handicap, and Handicap Hurdle Race, to bo run at the Jockey Club's meeting in March next, close with the secretary, Mr Luckio, at the Criterion Hotel at 8 o'clock to-night. Applications for the posts of head master and assistant master of the Hastings district school must ha sent to Mr Beilby, secrotary of committee, on or before tomorrow.
Auction sales will be held to-morrow as follows: —By Messrs Banner and Liddle, at 11 a.m., without reserve, tho stock-in-trade of Mr G-. Benjamin, of Taradalo ; by Mr Monteith, at the Hastings railway station, at 12.15 p.m., without reserve, 20,000 feet of building timber; and by Mr Ryan, at Beecroft's Repository, Hastings, without reserve, 2o head wuli-bred mares and geldings. The creditors of George Davio, settlor, of Napier, hold their first meeting at the Cotirt House, Napier, at 2 p.m. to-morrow. Summoned meeting:; of tho creditors of F. W. Ilollius and Adolf Breucr are convened for to-murruiv at tin: Court House, Napier, former at noon and latter at 2 p.m., when debtors make applications for certificates of compliance with provisions of Bankruptcy Act. Thursday morning for Kuripapanga, returning on Saturday evening. The privileges of the Jockey Club's Boxing Day meeting and of the Woodthorpe races on New Year's Day will be sold by auction by Messrs Hoadley, Lyon and Co. at the Criterion Hotel on Friday.

The sixth annual prize firing of the Hawko's Bay Rifle Association takes place at Petane on the 26th and 27th instant, the programme and conditions of which are published. The Napier Fire Brigade hold their annual display of fireworks on the recreation ground, Napier, ou the evening of the 27 th instant. The fees and school course of the Napier Girls' High School, for the term commencing on Tuesday, 29 th proximo, are announced. A grey gelding has been lost, and a reward of £ 1 will be paid on the animal's return to Mr P. Palmer, at. Mr J. B. Hollis', Clive. Eighteen sections in the Ruakiture Block, Wairoa, near Hawke's Bay, will be offered for sale on immediate payments at Napior on January 17th next. Messrs Knight Bros., Hastings, have good eating potatoes, oats, flour, and cornsacks, on hand and for sale. Mrs Coham, Hastings-street, has instituted a shilling table, and invites ladies to inspect her millinery. A certificated master is wanted for the Havelock district school. Spencer George Radford, draper, of Napier, and John Carpendale McKennie, cook, of Napier, declare their inability to meet their engagements with their creditors. Mr R Gregory has the lease, goodwill, and furniture of the Temperance Hotel for sale cheap. The New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Waikato is now on the berth loading colonial produce for London, and will be despatched the first week in January.
