The Polk Comedy Company make their first appearance in Napier at the Theatre Royal to-night.
The evening train to Hastings will not leave Napier till the conclusion of the performance at the Theatre.
Christmas tables will be in full swing at Messrs Neal and Close's to-night. Tenders must be sent in to Town Clerk's office by noon on Monday for the construction of a footpath in Shakespeare road from Clyde road to C'oote ro.'id._ A summoned meeting of the creditors of J. T. Cassin will bo held at the Court House, Napier, at 2 p.m. on Monday, to (aras-'der tho debtor's application for his immediate discharge from bankruptcy. Tenders for alterations and additions to the Little Dustpan will be received by Mill. P. Cohen up to 4 p.m. on Monday. Tenders for saving the grass seed on Clifton out-station must bo sent in to Mr John .Moore, Fern Hill, by Monday. Nominations for the Christmas Handicap, Handicap Hurdles, and Hastings Handicap, to be run at the Jockey Club's Boxing Day meeting, close on Tuesday evening next. A meeting of the Blue Ribbon Army will bo held in St. John's school-room on Tuesday evening next. The evening classes at the Napier Commercial Academy tiro held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and .Fridays, commencing at 7 o'clock. Special jurors summoned to attend the Supreme Court in tho case of Irvine and another v. Rob.Johns are informed by the Registrar that their attendance is not required. Major Routledge publishes tho volunteer district orders for the month of December. The Napier Girls' High School will be opened on January 20, and the terms are announced. Mr 11. Williams has just landed and opening up a large assortment of brush ware, direct from the English manufacturers, which he is offering at very low rates. William Moloney, baker, of Napier, has declared his inability to meet his engagements with his creditors, who arc convened to meet at the Court House, Napier, on the 13th December. Messrs Hardy and Sidey have for sale small cooking stoves very cheap, which do require setting, also Culvert's disinfectant carbolic acid in drums or bottles. Mr F. G. Borzutzky has a few more patent bee-hives with bees for sale. Mr T. Tanner will be glad to have a talk with tho person who Avrotc the letter to him signed "Yours feathfully." "Mr P. Scullion has three houses with land at Meanee for sale or lease. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted " column.
