BUSINESS AT THE ANNEXATION CONFERENCE.

SYDNEY
Friday. Thn Conference has appointed a subcommittee consisting of tlio five Premiers, Messrs Service, Stuart, Bray, Atkinson, and Griffiths, to consider the various resolutions which have been submitted and frame final resolutions for adoption by the Conferences, which now stands adjourned till, to-morrow.
(Received November 30, 10 p.m.) It has transpired tliat at this morning's sittiny of the Conference Mr Stuart detailed at length the term-! of the understanding which' exists between England mid France regarding the New tlcbridcs. Mr Stuart further notified that Mr Dalley, the Attor-noy-Gcneral of New South Wales, was preparing a scheme for the reduction of charges on telegrams between Australia and Europe, which "would be submitted to tho Conference. Mr Service presented the memorial on the subject of federation which had been drawn up by the European residents in Fiji. Mr Dibbs, the Colonial Treasurer of Now South Wales, gave notice of motion in favor of the adoption of a federal quarantine at Albany (West Australia), Thursday Island (Queensland), and Auckland (New' Zealand). A meeting of the sub-committee of Premiers was held this afternoon, and it is understood that an agreement was arrived at on the subject of annexation which is considered satisfactory by Mr Service, the mover of the first series of resolutions.
