At a meeting of the Eastern Extension Australasia and China Telegraph Company Mr Pender stated that if Australia Avould secure the company's present earnings, and also the benefit arising out of natural increase in the business, the company Avould be prepared to considerably reduce the present tariff. The Morning Post, in an article on tho federation of Australia, asserts that such a step will moot Avith universal approval.
