October. y I—Manaia, p.s., from Wairoa. Passengers—Mr W. Torr and boy, and Mr McKain. 31—Maori, s.s., from Wairoa, with ten native passengers.
Tho p.s. Manaia, Captain Baxter, returned from Wairoa at about 9.1") last night, bringing three passengers and some 50 sacks of maize. She Avill be leaving again for the same destination to-morrow night. Wo learn that tho s.s. Kiwi has been detained in Wellington, and will not now leave there before this evening, so that it will bo Saturday morning at the earliest before she could roach here. The steamer Maori Capt. Anderson, arrived in port from Wairoa at 11 o'clock hist night, bringing 150 sacks of maize and 10 native passengers. She is to steam iif'tlin for Wairoa at 11 o'clock to-night.
(By Cable.) San Feancisco, October 30. Arrived, yesterday, Pacific mail steamship City of Sydney from Auckland (left October 9), three days before her contract time. Melbourne, Wednesday. _ Arrived, this morning, Orient steamship Sorata from Plymouth (left September 22).

The City of Sydney, with the October colonial inailw, arrived at San Francisco from Auckland on the 20th of October, three clays earlier than her timo-table date. Dunethx, This day. Arrived, Pareora fi'om London, 72 days out from land to land, being the smartest pusmigo of the season.
