Rules and Regulations. No entry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by tho Stewards or whom thoy may appoint, and their decision on all points shall be final. All protests must be accompanied with a deposit of 3 soys., which sum shall be forfeited to tho funds if tho protest is not sustained. All nominations, acceptances, &"C, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash must bo addressed to the" Secretary and left at tbe Petane Hotel not later than 8 p.m. on the several specified dates. General entry night—FRIDAY, November 2. Tho rules and weights of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club as iv force at the day of the meeting will be strictly adhered to. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. Railway Handicap—Of 00-sovs., second horse to receive 10 soys. from the stake, distance, 1 mile. The winner of the AV.C.R. Handicap to carry 71b penalty. Nomination, 3 soys. ; acceptance, 2 soys. Hack Race—Of 10 soys., distance 1 mile, catch weights. Post entrance, 1 soy. Consolation Race—Of 10 soys., one mile, for all beaten horses. Post entrance, 1 soy. RULES. No person allowed to enter a horse unless he is a subscriber of at least ono guinea to the Club. All disputes, claims, or objections to be decided by a majority of tho stewards, or whom they may appoint, whose decision shall be final. All protests to be accompanied with a deposit of two guineas, to be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. Three horses to start in each race, or only half tho money will be given." "Hack" shall mean a horse that has never started in a woight-for-age or handicap raco. Nominations for tho Maiden Plato (with ages of horses and colors of riders). Handicap Hurdle Raco, AV.C.R.C. Handicap, ancl the Railway Handicap, accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be left with the secretary at Kaikora not later than 8 p.m. on the Bth of December. AVeights will appear on the 15th of December. Acceptances for the Handicap Hurdle Race, AV.C.R.C. Handicap, and the Railway Handicap, accompanied by tho necessary amount in cash, and colors of riders, must bo left with the secretary not later than 8 p.m. on the 22nd of December. Five per cent, deducted from the gross amount of all stakes. All races run under the H.B. Jockey Club rules and weights.
