In the Supremo Court yesterday in the case of Dawson v. the Queen, in which plaintiff claimed £2000 for the destruction of his sawmill by fire caused by sparks from a passing engine, the jury returned a verdict for the plaintiff for £100. The case will probably go to the Court of Appeal.
