SUPREME COURT CRIMINAL.

SESSIONS. AVangan-i, Tliis day.

At tho Supremo Court criminal sittings yesterday the Grand Jury threw out the two remaining bills against Lingard for fraudulent bankruptcy. Joseph Gildon was found guilty of burning down a straw stack at Waverley, and sentence was postponed. AVeraro and AVairama pleaded guilty to forcible entry into premises and ejecting the man in possession, and were liberated on their own recognisances to come up for sentence when called upon. This morning Joseph Gildon was brought up for sentence. His Honor said the crime was not very prevalent in this country, and ho would deal lightly with the prisoner, and imposed a penalty of two years imprisonment with hard labor. The case against three Maoris, Pctera Rupuha, Hoani Rupuha, and Tiriona Rupuha, for assai-.lt on Piercy at Kawhairi, is now proceeding.
