MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.

The first mooting of creditors in tho estate of Robert Martin, of Auckland, timber broker, Avas held yesterday, the liabilities Avere stated at £1.33'), and the assets at £983, consisting of promissory notes not. yet matured. Under examination the debtor ascribed his insolvency chiefly to lawsuits in the South, whereby he lost £1500. A meeting of the creditors of Thomas AVavth Gudgeon, commission agci.t, Avas held to-day." The liabilities Avero stated at £929, of Avhich £722 is OAving to John Abbot, bill broker. The assets, Avhich consist of goldmining stock, arc set down at £810. '"Upon his .statements of assets and liabilities the debtor endorsed the following memorandum: — "My failure to meeting my liabilities is caused by depreciation and losses on shares, attempts to pay off former debts, domestic troubles, and expenses. My business never exceeded £150 per annum."
