FATAL ACCIDENT.
TiXATtu, This day. A man named Alexander Sutherland, aged -10, unmarried, who was run over by a ballast wagon on the Albury extension
lino on Thursday, was brought to Timaru by special train. Amputating the leg close to the hip joint was found necessary, and tho operation was performed in the hospital. The unfortunate man, owing to the loss of blood on the journey, and tho shock to tho system, survived tho operation only four hours, and died yesterday.
