To Stand This Season at Havelock, the following Celebrated Sires: The imported English Thor•ffiLfiftflßv oughbrcd Stallion /•sfllliPk TrASCO DI GAMA.—A V richbaybrown, 10hands on short legs, bred by Sir Joseph Hawlcy, got by Beadsman, winner of the Derby, out of Salamanca, by Student from Bravery, by Gamcboy from Ennui (dam of English "Sauntorer, and grand dam of Antcros, sire of Canard and Louie), by Bay Middlcton from Blue Devils, by Velocipede from Care, by Woful from Recovery's dam. Vasco di Gama won the Maiden Plate at Ascot, ran third for the HurstbourneStakes, and won tho Rottingdean Nursery Handicap and the Molyneux Nursery Handicap (carrying top weight). Pero Gomez full brother to Vasco di Gama won the Middle Park Plate, Newmarket Stakes, Ascot Derby, St. Legcr Doncaster Stakes, Grand Duke of Michael Stakes and Royal Stakes (in all about £14,000). He has been a most successful sire in England, and his son Peregrine won the 2000 guineas stakes (worth about £5000) and was only beaten by a head for the Derby and was sold for 7000 guineas. It is no use looking at aristocratic breeding, grand appearance and good performances, if Vasco does not succeed with real good mares in begetting racehorses equal to any that have over graced a racecourse. Limited to 20 approved mares at 10 guineas each. &*k The imported French Thor- _«__*_* onghbrcd Stallion /*__K_k RADIATOR—A beau\_T tiful golden Chestnut, 15 hands 3 inches, bred by Count Lcgrange, got by that wonderful galloping machine Gladiatcur who gained the triple crown by winning the Two Thousand Guineas, Derby and St. Legcr in ISGS ; dam Nuncia (also dam of Nemesis, winner of the Metropolitan Stakes, Sydney, doing the 2 miles in 2mins. 33sec, beating 15 others; also dam of Messager, and of Victoiro who won tho Kingsbury Open Steeplechase, carrying top weight, 12st. 21b.), by Nuncio out of Fatima by Elis. Gladiator was never tried to race, but his full brother, Messager, was a rare performer on the flat, over hurdles, and across country, having won the Northamptonshire Stakes as a 4-year-old, Surrey Grand National Open Steeplechase, tho Croydon Grand Hurdle Race, and ran second in the United Kingdom Steeplechase in 1874. He also won many races in France, and the sporting correspondent of the London Standard pronounced him the very best steeplechaser as a 5-year old. Gladiatcur is also "grandsire of Sussex, Sting and other wonderful performers. The performances of Sussex prove him to be one of tho best horses ever bred in Australia: it is needless to enumerate the number of his victories, except the Grand National Steeplechase of July, 1881, carrying top weight 13, st lib. Sting won the Hawkesbury Grand Handicap, carrying Sst, doing tho 1-j mile in 2 mins. 30J sec, the fastest time on record. Gladiator is admitted to bo one of the handsomest thoroughbreds in the colony, and is eminently suited for getting racehorses, 'weight-carrying hunters, hurdleracers, and iadics' and gentlemen's hacks.
